“I’m getting bored”
We’ve all said and heard this sentence. Being bored can be torturous. You finally have some free time on your hands and you don’t know what to do with it. And the thing about boredom is that it just kills your happiness. Don’t let this happen to you.
If you’re getting bored, here’s what you can do.
1. Get your friends together, throw a party
Oh yeah, a party. Definitely a great way to kill time. When friends get together, there’s so much to talk about. Have some party games, play good music, and order pizza. Enjoy it with coke or beer – it’s amazing when you’ve got friends to have fun with.
2. Enjoy your favorite music
Music is an excellent way to teleport to another world. Where you’re the main character and the world revolved around you. Put on your headphones or just turn the music on and let it fill the room. If you’ve got no company, music can be a good friend.
It can uplift your mood instantly. And if you’re listening to music from your teenage years, it will remind you of your childhood crush. Get lost in the memory lane just by simply clicking on Play.
3. Have a Gossip Session
If all your friends live away from you, you can call them up and have a detailed conversation about how your lives are going. Gossip about a common person you know. It’s a great way to boost your positive hormones like serotonin and it reduces anxiety and stress.
While we’ve always heard successful people say that one should not waste time on gossip, it’s actually proven to be false. Gossiping is a good way to feel happy and refreshed. So pick up that phone and call a friend for some juicy gossips.
4. Go grocery shopping
There’s always something missing. You’re out of ketchup. Or maybe bread. There’s always something that needs restocking. Check the things in your home and make a list of what you need. Then go grocery shopping.
While grocery shopping isn’t the best time killer for some people, roaming around in a well-stocked store lifts the mood for many of us. Treat yourself and buy something different this time. Maybe that tin of cheese garlic almonds? Sure, why not – it’s okay once in a while.
5. Get Creative
What is that one thing that gives you peace? We all have that thing. Some people find painting a good way to kill boredom. Others like drawing cartoons. For some, it’s crafting. For others, it’s workshop. Whatever brings out your creative side, try that thing.
And if you’re out of ideas, you can always watch some DIY videos. That’s one way in which you won’t just be entertained but will also feel an achievement by the time you’re finished.
6. Watch YouTube videos
YouTube has so many videos that no matter what your preference is, you’ll find videos for yourself. I prefer funny videos. If you like funny videos too, you’ll find several channels on YouTube that feature funny content.
And here’s the thing about YouTube. One video will take you to another. And based on your previously watched videos, YouTube will recommend you more. This way, you can watch YouTube for hours on end.
Do What Suits You
With the internet at your disposal, there is a lot you can do. But if you don’t want to spend your time scrolling through Instagram or Facebook, there are several other things to do as well. Try this list and spend your time creatively and innovatively so you feel more fulfilled and are ready to start working again.
